The event was a cigar tasting put on by Jose Blanco of La Aurora cigars at Stafford &amp; Jones Tobacconists in Richardson, Tx.\u00c2\u00a0 This was not just any other cigar tasting event though, this was a puro tasting from all parts of the cigar itself.\u00c2\u00a0 Let me explain&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>We were handed a small pack of pc sized rolled tobacco with small white bands that read 1-4.\u00c2\u00a0 With each cigar we pulled out the instructions were to hold the foot of the cigar up to our nose and determine what if any smells we got from it.\u00c2\u00a0 Some said spice, others said cocoa or chocolate.\u00c2\u00a0 It really depends on the individual what they get out of it.<\/p>\n<p>Then we lit it up.\u00c2\u00a0 The idea was to get where the smoke hits you in the mouth&#8230; The back, front or sides.\u00c2\u00a0 As well as determining if there is any spice, flavors, or strength noticeable.\u00c2\u00a0 Some people noticed the smoke hitting them in the back of the mouth, others the side.\u00c2\u00a0 There really is no right answer, people&#8217;s taste buds are subjective.<\/p>\n<p>The puros we ended up smoking were from:\u00c2\u00a0 Brazil, Peru, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic.\u00c2\u00a0 These were all the makings of the La Aurora 1495 cigar.\u00c2\u00a0 It was really nice to see how all of these parts make up this wonderful smoke.\u00c2\u00a0 Some of the spice came from the Nicaraguan leaves.\u00c2\u00a0 The sweetness was from the Brazilian leafs and the rest made up the body of the cigar.\u00c2\u00a0 I had never been to a tasting such as this but it was very informative and I would love to do it again with different cigars.<\/p>\n<p>If you ever get a chance to do these tastings I suggest you do it.\u00c2\u00a0 Just make sure you have a well ventilated area to do it in&#8230; I think I still smell like smoke.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-483\" title=\"laauroratasting\" src=\"http:\/\/www.inthehumidor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/laauroratasting.jpg\" alt=\"laauroratasting\" width=\"530\" height=\"397\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.inthehumidor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/laauroratasting.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.inthehumidor.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/03\/laauroratasting-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Above:\u00c2\u00a0 Random pic from the tasting.\u00c2\u00a0 Notice the smoke in the room.\u00c2\u00a0 It was ridiculously smokey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WOW!\u00c2\u00a0 As I write this I can still smell the smoke of petite corona sized samples.
