It’s kind of a rainy day today and I need something to lighten the
mood, I reach for the Perdomo ESV 1991 Regente. This is a robusto shape
Conneticut shade beauty that has my name all over it. This looks like
a mild cigar so I decided to pair it with a nice spiced rum and let them
marry together. I’m in a pretty relaxed mood today so I figured this
pairing would be perfect.

The wrapper is almost flawless with hardly any visable veins. A silky
smooth appearance with a nice looking band. It feels great in the
hand, and a bit on the thicker side with a hefty 54 ring gauge. The
Conneticut shade wrapper glistens in the light from the oils within.

Prelight smells are of hay and cedar. This cigar burned excellent
throughout as I would have predicted from the flawless wrapper. The
draw was very clean with ample amounts of smoke with each puff. The ash did
tend to flake and break off easily though which I generally do not
like.

I got a few different flavors from this cigar ranging from cream and
nuts. It did have a very smooth finish which was nice and went well with a
toasty edge. It stayed pretty mild throughout and didn’t change much at
all. Not a very complex smoke in my opinion.

Overall this wasn’t a bad smoke, just nothing I would have on a daily
basis. Especially in this price range, there are better options out
there.

How often have you heard that latley? It is an all too often occurence these days for us cigar smokers to hear those exact words when walking into a pub or bar… some of us even our own cigar shops! How did this happen? How can this be stopped?

Well, I know we all have the same questions going through our heads but a number of cigar manuafatuers and retailers have decided to try and do something about it. It’s called the Cigar Rights of America and it’s about time. As I am sure most of you are aware of the SCHIP bill that congress is trying to pass to impose a 3,000% tax on tobacco, including cigars. This is unconstitutional and taxation without representation.

Please click on the link and read up about what they are trying to do for your rights as a cigar smoker. Join the fight and help us keep our rights as United States citizens. It is through these avenues that we must proceed to keep our government from taking all of our rights away. The land of the free… let’s keep it that way.

Today I strolled into the shop looking to recover from the disappointment of the Don Lino Africa, and today I decided on a Perdomo Habano Corojo in the Presidente size.

From initial light up till I finished this cigar there was a very slight hint of a cedar flavor. Aside from that this cigar was a very light smoke. I would recommend this cigar to someone who may have a long drive to work i the morning. But it’s just too mild to truly be enjoyed. Any other time of the day this cigar wouldn’t be enjoyable when a possible stronger or more flavorful cigar would rather be smoked.

Today we have the Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro Robusto for review. The cigar looks good and has a nice dark sheen maduro wrapper, it seems to be oozing with oils as well. There are a couple of big veins sticking out on the wrapper though, i was really hoping they didn’t interfere with the burn. The pre light was nice and of toasty earth. I have smoked a few of these before but forgot what i was in store for.

This cigar took about the first 1/3 to settle in. The smoke was full but kinda flavorless at first, then it happened; the flavors exploded on my palate. I had earth and leather, even meaty peppery notes. To me this cigar tasted almost like a Tatuaje, it was amazing. I nubbed this cigar for sure as i couldn’t get enough of it. I was even sitting outside on my porch freezing and i couldn’t put it down to go inside. This is one of those cigars that grabs you and tells you to smoke more of them.
